Today was mostly spent at the Margaret Jacks Recreationist Hall, practicing the scales -- musical, not diatom -- with the ghost of Enrico Caruso. Specifically the one from the Altamontagna distribution, which I hope will make more sense to those schooled in the sciences of computers. Unlike other distributions, this Caruso isn't as tractable, which I appreciate. I find my attentions focus more when I have a disciplinarian doing the guidance. I have seen those under the spell of their own pet ghosts, and I have little desire to fall into such a trap. One crack in my fragile resolve, and I would spend hours entertaining myself with holograph sycophants.
I am distressed that my vocals, once barely acceptable, have become a nightmare. My growth has enlarged my larynx and nasal passages to such proportions that even the slightest whisper projects far too many decibels. I have to recalibrate my auto-electromyography one sinew at a time, and without a proper map since I altered myself away from specifications. Barometric pressure, room temperature, humidity -- all factors that are merely a concern for properly-sized singers have their errors magnified a hundredfold for myself. Under Mr. Caruso's direction, we begin with a subsonic resonance and then work our way up into standard registers.
I say "mostly" because I was ejected prematurely. Unfortunately, my volume is still a control issue, and an otherwise "silent" noise easily passes through walls and floors. Today I was embarrassed when the room next door reported that after 小时 of sustaining a note, it had permeated to the storage room of the museum on the same floor, matched the structural-resonance frequency of "the Osborne ones", and had shattered several of their glass and plastic components. Embarrassed, I obsequeated myself in hopes that I would not lose my access privileges. This Caruso is my favorite to work with. I lack a computer in my current abode, and though I still maintain my condominium, the unit there refuses to manifest him and instead lectures me on the responsibilities of proper computer usage -- something I have no patience for.
